I-League’s 2022-23 season to begin in Kerala from November 12: AIFF

The All India Football Federation (AIFF) on Tuesday said that the 2022-23 season of the I-League will begin in Malappuram, Kerala from November 12. Defending champions Gokulam Kerala FC will face last year’s runners-up Mohammedan Sporting in the opening match of the season. The last two seasons of the league were held in a biologically safe environment and matches were held in Kolkata, Kalyani and Naihati in West Bengal.

After the restrictions related to Kovid are lifted, 12 clubs will be seen playing at 13 venues across the country. In the coming season, EMS Stadium in Kozhikode, Bakshi Stadium in Srinagar, Deccan Arena in Hyderabad, Chhatrasal Stadium in New Delhi will host I-League matches for the first time.
