IPL 2023: Chennai strengthens its position in Points Table, defeats Mumbai by 6 wickets in thrilling match

In the 49th match of IPL 2023, Chennai Super Kings made a spectacular comeback and defeated Mumbai Indians by 6 wickets. Batting first after losing the toss, the Mumbai Indians team scored 139 runs for 8 wickets. Chennai needed 140 runs to win, which Chennai achieved by losing 4 wickets. Wadhera shared a 55-run partnership with Suryakumar Yadav (26 off 22 balls) for the fourth wicket and a 54-run partnership with Tristan Stubbs (20 off 21 balls) for the fifth wicket. For Chennai, Mathish Pathirana took three wickets for 15 runs in four overs while Deepak Chahar and Tushar Deshpande got two successes each. Ravindra Jadeja took one wicket. Left-handed batsman Wadhera completed his first half-century of IPL career in 46 balls by taking two runs against Menjdeja in the next over. However, Pathirana bowled him in the 18th over to give Chennai a big breakthrough. In the next over, Tushar Deshpande played a key role in preventing Mumbai from scoring big by dismissing Tim David (two runs in four balls).
