Hockey World Cup 2023: Odisha is becoming the hub of hockey, hosting the World Cup for the second time in a row

Odisha is becoming the hub of hockey in India. Has done many big things in the field of hockey in Odisha. Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik himself continues to show his interest in hockey. There is no doubt that Naveen Patnaik has played a vital role in the revival of Indian hockey. The Chief Minister of Odisha is also showing his interest regarding the Hockey World Cup. He is also constantly reviewing the preparations. The Hockey World Cup will be held from January 13 to January 29. All the matches will be played in two stadiums. The Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar and the Birsa Munda International Hockey Stadium in Rourkela.

Odisha also hosted the Hockey World Cup in 2018. The matches were played in Bhubaneswar, the capital of Odisha. A total of 16 teams are participating in the Hockey World Cup being held in Odisha this time. India is hosting this World Cup. Apart from India, teams from Belgium, England, Germany, Netherlands, Spain, France and Wales are participating in this World Cup. Apart from this, the teams of South Africa, Argentina, Chile, Japan, Malaysia, South Korea, Australia and New Zealand will also show their dominance in this World Cup.
Talking about the capacity of Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar, it is 16,000. It has been completely upgraded. Whereas, Birsa Munda Hockey International Stadium of Rourkela has a capacity of 20000. This stadium is fully equipped with modern facilities. In which stadium, the spectators will be able to watch the match much closer than any other stadium in the world.

India will play their first match against Spain on January 13 in Rourkela. On the other hand, India will play the second match against England on January 15 in Rourkela. India has to play the third match against Wales at Kalinga Stadium Bhubaneswar on January 19. After this the quarter-final matches will be played.

The semi-final match will be played in Bhubaneswar on January 27. There will be two semi-final matches. Whereas, the competition for the third and fourth positions will be held on January 29. The final match will be played at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar on January 29 itself.
