India crush South Korea to enter Junior Asia Cup hockey final

Salalah. The Indian hockey team stormed into the final of the Junior Asia Cup after thrashing South Korea 9-1 in a one-sided encounter here on Wednesday. In Thursday’s title clash, India will face the winner of the second semi-final between Malaysia and Pakistan. Dhami Bobby Singh scored a hat-trick to increase India’s margin of victory. He was elected ‘Player of the Match’. Dhami scored in the 31st, 39th and 55th minutes while Lakra Sunit opened India’s account in the 13th minute. Hundal Arijit Singh doubled the lead in the 19th minute of the match.

Angad Vir Singh and Uttam Singh scored in the 34th and 38th minutes respectively to take the Indian lead to 6-0 after the third quarter. However, the Korean team played better in the last quarter. Keonyeol Hwang scored the lone goal for the team in the 46th minute. Vishnukant Singh increased India’s lead to 7-1 in the 51st minute. Two minutes later, Dhami completed his hat-trick and then Sharda Nand Tiwari’s goal sealed the big win for the team.
