Just a week before the announcement of the assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, Durga Shankar Mishra has been appointed as the new Chief Secretary, making a big reshuffle in the state’s bureaucracy. He is currently posted as Secretary in the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs on deputation at the Center and was looking after the work of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dream project Central Vista. He is also the Chairman of Delhi Metro Rail Corporation.

He also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Policy and a Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resource Management from the International Institute of Social Studies, The Hague.
