Such is the preparation of Richa Ghosh before facing Australia in ICC T20 Women’s World Cup 2023, herself informed

Cape Town. India’s star wicket-keeper batsman Richa Ghosh believes that her team will have to score at least 180 runs if they want to mount a tough fight against Australia in the semi-finals of the T20 Women’s World Cup. India may have lost 1-4 in the five-match series against Australia in December but they put up a tough fight in all the matches. The Harmanpreet Kaur-led side would like to do the same again.

Ghosh, who has been India’s best performer so far in the World Cup, said, “Australia feel comfortable chasing because they have depth in their batting.” We would love to do that too but nobody has control over the toss. So whatever the situation may be, we have to go through it. We have prepared our strategy for this match. “He said,” We do not know how the pitch will behave tomorrow but it is looking good now. If all our batsmen walk, then we can set a target of around 180 in front of them.

If we bowl first, we will try to restrict them to 140 to 150 runs because they have good batsmen. Keep on coming and even I have gone through them but I took a lesson from them that how you can deal with the situation. When I go out to bat, I deal with pressure better now than before.

India haven’t had a good record against Australia in the recent past but Ghosh believes the Meg Lanning-led side is beatable. Australia have lost only one T20 International match in the last 22 months. He got it in the super over at the hands of India. Five-time champions Australia are currently unbeaten in the tournament. Ghosh said, “Australia can be defeated. We beat them in our last series and we’ve beaten them before. They have a strong team but we can beat them. We are trying to strengthen our mindset. Everyone has their own different game but the team which is mentally strong will win. We are working on it.
