Champions League: Real Madrid beat Getafe, Karim Benzema rested
Barcelona. Real Madrid rested top players, including star striker Karim Benzema, ahead of next week’s Champions League semi-final decider against Manchester City but still beat Getafe 1-0 to lift the Spanish league football tournament. I managed to reach second place. Marco Asensio scored the only goal of the match in the 70th minute. With this win, Real Madrid have 71 points from 34 matches and are two points ahead of Atlético Madrid.

Atlético has 69 points from 33 matches. Barcelona are on top with 82 points from 33 matches. If Barcelona beat Espanyol on Sunday, they will clinch the Spanish league title and that is why Real Madrid are focusing on the Champions League. The first leg of the Champions League semi-final between Real Madrid and Manchester City ended in a 1-1 draw and next week’s second leg match has become crucial.
