Netherlands goalkeeping coach Van de Pol to organize camp for Indian goalkeepers

New Delhi. Netherlands goalkeeping coach Dennis van de Pol will conduct two special camps in Bengaluru for Indian men’s hockey team goalkeepers ahead of the Asian Games to be held in Hangzhou, China in September. Van de Pol’s first camp with the Indian team will be from July 13 to 19 before he will return to India for another week-long camp from September 7 to 14. The Indian men’s hockey team will take part in special sessions during a week-long camp under the supervision of head coach Craig Fulton at the Sports Authority of India (SAI) in Bengaluru.

PR Sreejesh, Krishna Pathak, Suraj Karkera, Prashant Kumar Chauhan and Pawan Malik will participate in the camp. “I am excited to be joining the Indian men’s hockey team again for a short camp,” Van de Pol said in a statement issued by Hockey India. This team is amazing and it is always a thrill to work with this team. We have had some great sessions in the past as well and I am looking forward to starting the upcoming camp. ,

Ahead of the Hangzhou Asian Games, the Indian men’s team will play in a four-team international tournament from July 25 to 30 to mark the 100th anniversary of the Spanish Hockey Federation. The other three teams in this are England, the Netherlands and the host Spain. After this, the Asian Champions Trophy will be played in Chennai in August. Dilip Tirkey, President, Hockey India said, “We are delighted to have Dennis van de Poel on board for the training camp with the men’s team. It is a crucial time of the year and retaining the best will prove beneficial for the team. I am sure this camp will be fruitful for the team.
