New Delhi: The government has launched a unique face recognition technology for pensioners with an aim to make life easier for retired and elderly citizens. It was launched by Dr Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State. And said that the Face Recognition technology of giving life certificates is a historic and far-reaching improvement, as it will not only affect the lives of 68 lakh Central Government pensioners but also crores of pensioners. Those who come outside the jurisdiction of this department like Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO), state government pensioners etc. He thanked the National Informatics Center (NIC), Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology as well as the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) for developing this technology and making such initiatives possible by the Department of Pensions and Pensioners’ Welfare. . Several reforms for release of family pension

He said that the effort to issue electronic PPOs and take it forward in DigiLocker is a big step towards ease of living and transparency. He said that the department is also bringing out e-booklets for pensioner awareness and running awareness campaigns on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and other social media.
Grievance Redressal Portal CPENGRAMS
He said that informative films have become quite popular on social media showing record number of hits. Singh said that CPENGRAMS, a grievance redressal portal with a call centre, is another example of digitisation. He said that at the behest of the Prime Minister, the department has also started a portal named Anubhav to showcase the experiences of retired officers of the Government which has now become a huge resource base for us. The department not only introduced the concept of Pension Adalats but has also leveraged technology to conduct digital courts through video-conferencing.
Unique face recognition technology to spread awareness about pension policy reforms
Dr Jitendra Singh also informed that the Pension Department has started the system of registering the unions of pensioners in different cities and with around 46 registered unions in different cities, the department is strengthening its hands to be able to reach the grassroots level. able to do. He said that recently the department has brought the rules related to NPS service as well as gratuity rules for the officers covered under NPS. The Minister expressed hope that the massive work of review and rationalization of the CCS (Pension) Rules, 1972 has reached the final stage and will be issued shortly.
