Asita included in Sri Lanka squad in place of injured Binura in T20 World Cup

Fast bowler Asita Fernando has been included in the Sri Lankan squad for the T20 World Cup in place of the injured Binura Fernando. Binura was injured during the match played against Australia on Tuesday. Australia won the match by seven wickets. According to a release from the International Cricket Council (ICC), the six-member technical committee of the T20 World Cup has approved this change.

The ICC said, “He will travel from Sri Lanka to join the team in Australia.” Twenty-five-year-old Asita has played three T20 Internationals so far. These include the match played against India in the Asia Cup. Sri Lanka will next face New Zealand on Saturday.
