Trent Boult wants to be a part of his team in ICC Odi World Cup

Jaipur. Trent Boult has decided to opt out of his contract with New Zealand Cricket but the fast bowler has a burning desire to be a part of his national team in the ODI World Cup to be held in India later this year. Boult had walked out of New Zealand Cricket’s contract in August last year to spend more time with his family and play franchise cricket around the world.

The 33-year-old was not picked in the squad after last year’s T20 World Cup as the selectors preferred contracted players. “I still have a burning desire to play cricket for New Zealand,” Bolt said. I was lucky enough to play for New Zealand for 13 years. I still have a burning desire to play in the World Cup. New Zealand had missed out on winning the title against England in the 2019 World Cup final but Bolt believes that his team will emerge champions in the tournament to be held in India in October-November. He said, “I remember telling Kane (Williamson) after the 2019 final that we have to reach this stage again in 2023 in India. It is sad that he has injured his knee but he will try his best to be fit for the World Cup. It is such a great tournament and I would definitely like to be a part of it. Williamson was injured at the start of the IPL and his World Cup participation is doubtful. Boult said, “We have a fantastic team in ODIs and we have some very good players who have a lot of experience playing in India which will come in handy in the World Cup.
