Shaheen Afridi returns to Pakistan team for Test series against Srilanka, will wear white jersey after one year

Karachi. The Pakistan team has to play a two-Test series against Sri Lanka next month, for which the Pakistan Cricket Board has announced the Pakistan Cricket Team on Saturday. Fast bowler Shaheen Afridi has been included in this team after a long gap of one year. Along with Shaheen, Mohammad Huraira and Amir Jamal have been included in the Test team for the first time. These players are part of the 16-member squad which will be led by Babar Azam.

The PCB has announced that former South African fast bowler Morne Morkel has been appointed as the bowling coach. His contract with the Pakistan team is initially for six months, which has already been signed. Let us tell you that with this series between Sri Lanka and Pakistan, Pakistan will start its campaign in the third cycle of the ICC World Test Championship.

Shaheen’s return
The return of Pakistan’s left-arm fast bowler Shaheen is a relief news for the team. Shaheen has not played any Test cricket since July last year due to a knee injury. He suffered this injury against Sri Lanka in July itself. He played his last match for Pakistan in the T20 World Cup final against England in October. Shaheen has 99 wickets in Tests and is the highest wicket-taker for his country since his debut in 2018. This year, he captained the Lahore Qalandars to win the PSL title for the second time in a row.

Such is the performance of the other two players
Omar Jamal and Mohammad Huraira are excellent players included in the squad. Mohammad Huraira had earlier scored runs with his bat during the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy. He scored the most runs in the tournament. Huraira scored 1024 runs in 11 matches at an average of 73.14. On the other hand, Omar Jamal is the best all-rounder of Pakistan. He has also performed brilliantly in domestic cricket.

Huraira is a batting all-rounder while Jamal defended 15 runs against Moeen Ali in the last over in the fifth T20 International against England last year. The team has four spinners, four fast bowlers, six specialist batsmen and two wicket-keeper batsmen.

Pakistan Team: Babar Azam (Captain), Mohammad Rizwan, Amir Jamal, Abdullah Shafiq, Abrar Ahmed, Hasan Ali, Imam-ul-Haq, Mohammad Huraira, Mohammad Nawaz, Naseem Shah, Noman Ali, Salman Ali Agha, Sarfraz Ahmed, Saud Shakeel, Shaheen Afridi and Shan Masood.
