Para javelin thrower Antil broke his own world record and won the gold medal in the World Championship

New Delhi. India’s Paralympic gold medalist Sumit Antil on Thursday won gold in the F64 javelin throw event with a world record effort of 70.83m at the World Para Athletics Championships in Paris. Antil bettered his own record of 70.17m which he had set during the Indian Open National Para Athletics Championships in May last year.

He also became the fourth Indian to secure a quota for the Paris 2024 Paralympics. The top four finishers in the individual medal events of the World Para Athletics Championships 2023 are getting Paralympic quotas.
