LSG beat Punjab by a huge margin of 56 runs, achieved a strong win

The 38th match of the Indian Premier League 2023 was played between Lucknow Super Giants and Punjab Kings, in which the Lucknow team won by a margin of 56 runs. With the victory in this match, the team of Lucknow Super Giants, now playing under the leadership of KL Rahul, has reached the top of the points table. In this match, the Punjab team scored 201 runs and lost 10 wickets. Even after trying their best, Punjab could not win the match.
 
Punjab’s first wicket Shikhar Dhawan 1 run (3/1), second wicket – Prabhsimran Singh 9 runs (31/2), third wicket – Sikandar Raza 36 runs (109/3), fourth wicket – Atharva Tayde 66 runs (127/3) 4), Fifth wicket – Liam Livingstone 23 runs (152/5), Sixth wicket – Sam Curran 21 runs (178/6), Seventh wicket – Jitesh Sharma 24 runs (192/7), Eighth wicket – Rahul Chahar 0 runs ( 193/8), Ninth wicket – Kagiso Rabada 0 runs (197/9), Tenth wicket – Shahrukh Khan returned to the pavilion on 6 runs (201/10). With this, Punjab’s innings ended and Punjab was all out for 201 runs.
 
Lucknow’s innings was like this
On the basis of aggressive innings of Kyle Myers and Marcus Stoinis, Lucknow Super Giants scored 257 runs for five wickets against Punjab Kings on Friday, which is the second highest score in the history of IPL. Myers was on fire with the bat in the powerplay, scoring 54 runs in 24 balls, while Stoinis scored 72 runs in 40 balls. Ayush Badoni scored 43 in 24 balls and Nicholas Pooran scored 45 in 19 balls.
 
Returning after three matches, Shikhar Dhawan won the toss and decided to bowl, which proved to be wrong. Except for Rahul Chahar, all six of their bowlers conceded runs at an average of more than ten runs per over. In-form Arshdeep Singh gave away 54 runs in four overs. Kagiso Rabada conceded 52 runs in four overs though he got two wickets. This is the second highest score in the history of IPL. The record for the highest score is in the name of Royal Challengers Bangalore who scored 263 runs in 2013 with the help of Chris Gayle’s 175 runs.
 
Only Lucknow captain KL Rahul could not walk on the batsman’s favorite pitch and was dismissed after scoring 12 runs in nine balls. He also got a life on the first ball of the match off Gurnoor Brar but he could not take advantage of it. Myers hit Arshdeep for four fours in the very first over. He hit seven fours and four sixes in his innings. After the dismissal of Myers, Stoinis and Badoni added 89 runs in 47 balls. Stoinis hit five sixes and six fours in his innings. Lucknow scored 73 runs in the last six overs. Stoinis would have been out in the 13th over but Liam Livingstone touched the boundary in an attempt to take a catch at long-on.
