Cold air is coming, it’s raining in the North

Thunderstorms continued in the North on March 27, at the same time, the temperature dropped to 18-20 degrees Celsius, in some places below 15 degrees Celsius in the mountains.

On the morning of March 27, Hanoi’s weather was cloudy, cloudy, and cold again after many warm days. This phenomenon occurs because the area has been affected by cold air.

Today and tonight, the cold air will continue to affect many places in the Northeast and North Central, then expand the area to affect a number of central provinces and cities.

In the coming hours, the North may appear rain, showers and thunderstorms. The lowest temperature drops to 17-20 degrees Celsius, in the mountains there are places below 15 degrees Celsius. This temperature is about 5 degrees Celsius lower than the previous days.

In Hanoi and the provinces and cities of the Northern Delta, the area turned cold early this morning with the lowest temperature of 18-20 degrees Celsius accompanied by light rain. By noon and afternoon, the weather is warmer and drier with the highest temperature of the day at 24 degrees Celsius.

Notably, the influence of cold air combined with the convergence of high winds caused thunderstorms to appear in the area from Thanh Hoa to Thua Thien – Hue, with heavy rain locally. People watch out for the risk of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong winds.

Explaining the hail phenomenon that occurred in Thua Thien – Hue on March 26, experts said that the area is having a high temperature with a common level of 32-34 degrees Celsius, when thunderstorms appear, causing moisture in the air. there is great instability and strong disturbance.

The cold air in this period has moderate to the weak intensity and is skewed to the east, so it does not cause much heat reduction, mainly causing thunderstorms, experts said. The North is less likely to appear cold and harmful cold.

However, ships operating at sea still need to be aware of the impact of the monsoon. From the night of March 26, the wind turned to the northeast inland, strong at level 2-3, in the coastal area at level 3-4. The north of the Gulf of Tonkin and the north of the East Sea has a level 6 northeast wind, level 7-8. Sea waves are 1.5-2.5 m high.
