Women’s Junior Asia Cup: India need a draw to make it to the semi-finals

India, who have been unbeaten so far in the competition, will be eyeing a semi-final berth in their final pool match against Chinese Taipei in the Women’s Junior Asia Cup hockey tournament here on Thursday. India beat Malaysia 2-1 in a hard-fought match after thrashing Uzbekistan 22-0 in the first match. In their last pool match, India held Korea to a 2-2 draw after trailing by two goals. India are leading Pool A with seven points from two wins and a draw and a draw against Chinese Taipei would be enough for them to make it to the semi-finals.

Mumtaz Khan and Deepika have been in fine form for India, scoring a lot of goals while Deepika Soreng has also impressed. Chinese Taipei have won just one out of three matches so far and are placed fourth among the five teams in Pool A with three points.
