Three men were sentenced to between 18 and 25 years in prison for the crimes of robbery and rape in Oberá

The Criminal Court 1 of Oberá sentenced Jonathan Taborda (30 years) to 18 years in prison and 25 years in prison; Rosalino De Melo (53 years old) and Saúl Bareiro (36 years old), for the crimes of robbery doubly aggravated by the use of a knife and sexual abuse with seriously outrageous carnal access (town and gang), to a 67-year-old woman.

This is the second sentence that the accused received, although in the first trial the ruling was null and void. The three men who had already been tried and sentenced – with penalties of 18 to 22 years in prison – but the Superior Court of Justice of Misiones (STJ), annulled the sentence in 2019 and ordered a new debate.

This Monday, October 25; Taborda, De Melo and Bareiro, were sentenced by a new Court formed in this regard. The judges: Miguel Moreira (President), Graciela Ivonne Hepner and Jorge Villalba, issued a new sentence this afternoon, with even greater penalties than those they received in the previous debate.

Now, the accused received between 18 and 25 years in prison for being considered criminally responsible for the crimes of: “robbery doubly aggravated by the use of a firearm, town and gang, and sexual abuse with carnal access, seriously outrageous for the victim”.

The incident occurred on October 6, 2016, in a house, located in a rural area of ​​Oberá. The defendants entered the building through a window and after beating and raping the victim, the offenders took a very small sum of money, an electric oven and a flashlight.

Relatives of the accused waited in front of the headquarters of Criminal Court 1, the resolution of the Oberá Justice – which at 12:00 hours – announced the conviction. They called for “justice” for the accused.

Daniel Omar Salvayot (21) pleaded guilty in an abbreviated trial and received the maximum penalty imposed by the penal code and now, he repented of his decision and will be tried by the Oberá Criminal Court.

On September 29, Daniel Omar Salvayot was sentenced to life imprisonment for being criminally responsible for the murder of 28-year-old Claudia Mariana Dino, aggravated by the couple’s bond that united them and for mediating gender violence, due to the accumulation of evidence against him.
