Names of Sable and Parul included in the entry list of World Cross Country Championship

Long distance runner Avinash Sable is among five Indian athletes in the entry list for the World Cross Country Championships to be held in Bathurst, Australia on February 18. Anand Singh is the second Indian male sprinter in this list after Sable, the silver medalist in the 3000m steeplechase at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games (2022). Anand had finished second in the Indian Cross Country Championships held in Assam last month. In the list of male runners released for this event, 215 players from 47 countries are named.

In the women’s section, Parul Chowdhary, Sanjivani Jadhav and Chhavi Yadav were named bronze medalists in the 5000 meters at the 2019 Asian Championships. The women’s list names 102 players from 31 countries. Parul has done exceptionally well in the last year. He achieved the highest position in the country in the 3000 m steeplechase event. He won two gold medals in the Indian Grand Prix during this period. Topped the National Open Championship and National Interstate Senior Championship.

Parul impressed by finishing 12th at the World Championships in Oregon. However, the highest expectations will be from Sable in this event. This runner, who started running from the year 2015, has so far held the national record in 3000 meters steeplechase nine times. The 28-year-old athlete also holds the national records for 5,000 meters and half marathon.
