Agarwal’s double century gives Karnataka the upper hand over Saurashtra
Skipper Mayank Agarwal scored a double century as Karnataka put Saurashtra under pressure by scoring 407 in the first innings on the second day of the Ranji Trophy semi-final on Thursday. Playing ahead of his yesterday’s score of 110 runs, Agarwal scored 249 runs in 429 balls on the second day. He hit 28 fours and six sixes in his innings. Karnataka scored 46 runs ahead of yesterday’s score of 229 runs for five wickets. Added 178 runs in 3 overs. Wicketkeeper Srinivas Sharath was lbw to Chetan Sakariya after scoring 66 runs.
Krishnappa Gautam and Vijay Kumar Visakh could not last long. Vidwat Kaverappa scored 15 runs. Sakariya and Kushang Patel took three wickets each for Saurashtra. In reply, Saurashtra scored 76 runs for two wickets. They still trail Karnataka by 331 runs with three days of play left. Wicketkeepers Harvik Desai and Sheldon Jackson 27. Was playing after scoring 27 runs. Snell Patel and Vishvaraj Jadeja lost their wickets to Kaverappa.
