Meanwhile, for the first time information has come to the notice of a badminton player receiving threats. Badminton player Chirag Shetty himself has issued a statement regarding this. He said that he receives calls and messages from many unknown numbers, in which he is threatened. It is written in the message that die or else I will kill you. According to Chirag, he has been receiving such threatening messages for several days.

 

He said that sometimes people criticize for playing poorly, which is natural. Sports fans don’t mind criticizing because we consider it a part of the game. But when there is a death threat, it becomes more. Let us tell you that Chirag has given this statement after the revelation of killing Scotland’s star badminton player Kirsty Gilmour and receiving rape threats. He said that probably these messages are people who gamble in badminton and give such threatening messages after losing money. Please tell that Chirag has not filed any complaint even after receiving threats. He said that there would be many such players who would be getting such messages.

 

The World Badminton Association has also issued a statement on this matter. In this regard, the secretary of the union Thomas said that the federation condemns such misbehavior with the players. The union stands with all the players. The matter will be investigated and the association will take all possible steps so that the players do not suffer. Police intervention will also be done in this matter so that there is no misbehavior with the players.
