Djokovic wins tournament by defeating Kaspar Ruud, equals Federer’s record six ATP Finals titles
Novak Djokovic defeated third seed Kaspar Ruud to win a record-equalling sixth ATP Finals tennis tournament title here on Sunday. Djokovic of Serbia defeated Ruud 7-5 6-3 to win the tournament for the first time since 2015 and equal Federer’s six titles. Thirty-five-year-old Djokovic had to face defeat when he reached the finals of this tournament last two times.

Djokovic said after winning the title, “Seven years is a long time. Plus the fact that I waited seven years makes this win all the sweeter and bigger. Djokovic became the oldest player to win the year-end tournament. He also received the biggest prize money in tennis history.
He got an amount of $4.7 million for winning the ATP Finals. Djokovic ended the year with 18 wins and one loss. He won titles in Tel Aviv and Astana while reaching the final of the Paris Masters. Apart from this, he also won titles in Wimbledon and Rome.
