Mumbai Indians have created history by winning the final match of the first edition of Women’s Premier League 2023. Mumbai Indians beat Delhi Capitals by 7 wickets. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur once again played the captaincy innings to win Mumbai Indians in this match and won the first title of Women’s Premier League for Mumbai. Delhi Capitals decided to bat first after winning the toss. Delhi had given a target of 132 runs to Mumbai Indians, which the team easily chased.

Even in the final match, Harmanpreet Kaur and Nat Sciver-Brunt made Mumbai Indians the winner by playing blistering innings. Nat Sciver Brunt scored 54 runs in 52 balls in the match and defeated Delhi by seven wickets.

The Mumbai team did not stop putting pressure on Delhi just like that. In the final match, Delhi got its ninth blow on the score of 79. Tanya Bhatia gave her wicket to Hayley Mathews. The Mumbai team gave only five runs in the last 4 overs and took three important wickets. Till this point, it seemed that the match was completely out of Delhi’s hands. But Radha Yadav and Shikha Pandey played brilliant innings for the 10th wicket. Both shared a 52-run partnership in 24 balls for the 10th wicket, which was a record innings in the history of women’s cricket. Due to the strong partnership of both, the team scored a fighting score of 131.
