Bengal’s strong start with Anustup’s unbeaten century

Experienced batsman Anustup Majumdar scored an unbeaten 137 as Bengal made 335 for six in their Ranji Trophy Group A match against Haryana here on Tuesday. Apart from Majumdar, Abhimanyu Easwaran contributed 57 runs and wicket-keeper batsman Abhishek Porel contributed 49 runs for Bengal, who are on top in Group A with 25 points. Pradipta Pramanik was playing on 23 with Majumdar when the stumps were uprooted. Harshal Patel was the most successful bowler of Haryana.

He took three wickets for 60 runs. In another Group AK match being played at Dehradun, Uttarakhand bowled out Baroda for 86 runs in 35.3 overs in the first innings. Advance Tiwari took five wickets for 40 runs from Uttarakhand. Uttarakhand had scored 74 runs for four wickets at the end of the first day’s play. On the other hand, Himachal Pradesh scored 285 for six against Nagaland on the first day with the help of Ankit Kalsi’s unbeaten 116 runs in Nadaun. Mayank Dagar was playing on 53 with Kalsi when the stumps were uprooted. Odisha scored 222 for five on the first day against Uttar Pradesh in Meerut. Shantanu Mishra scored an unbeaten 107 from his side while Rajesh Dhupar contributed 62 runs. Abhishek Raut was playing on 43 with Mishra when the stumps were uprooted.
