Lionel Messi has no plans to retire from international football just yet and the star striker says he will continue playing for Argentina even after achieving his dream of winning the World Cup. Lionel Messi’s dream of becoming world champion came true after beating France 4-2 in the penalty shootout at the Lusail Stadium. Messi scored two goals in the match. Messi is just 35 and it is believed that this will be his last World Cup but the star striker said after the match that he still intends to play.

Messi said, “Definitely I wanted to complete my career with this.I can’t expect more than this now. ” He said, ” It would be wonderful to end my career like this. After this what else is left. I have the Copa America and the World Cup title. But I love football and I feel happy to be a part of the national team. As a world champion, I would like to play a few more matches for the national team.

Messi has won the Ballon d’Or award for the best player in the world on seven occasions. He has also won the Champions League four times with his former club Barcelona. Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni said Messi could stay with the team if he wanted to. “If he wants to continue playing and wants to stay with us, he can do that. He is fully entitled to decide whether he wants to be with us or not. It is a matter of great pleasure for me that he played under my coaching. What he has given to this team is incredible.
