Surya retains top, Arshdeep reaches career-best 23rd ranking

In-form Indian batsman Suryakumar Yadav has retained the top spot in the ICC batting rankings while left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh has climbed to a career-best 23rd position in the T20 bowling rankings. Yadav has scored 225 runs in the T20 World Cup so far in five matches at a strike rate of close to 200. He remains at the top position with a career-best 869 rating points. Yadav had scored 61 off 25 balls in India’s last group match.

New Zealand’s Devon Conway is second to him while Pakistan captain Babar Azam is at the fourth position. India’s vice-captain KL Rahul has moved up five places to be at 16th position, while Virat Kohli is at 11th and Rohit Sharma is at 18th.

In bowling, Arshdeep has moved up four places to 23rd while Shaheen Shah Afridi of Pakistan is one place above him. Spinner R Ashwin has moved up five places to be at 13th position. Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga is on top who took 15 wickets in this tournament. Zimbabwe’s Sean Williams has moved into the top 10 of the all-rounders’ rankings.
