Tottenham, Frankfurt return to Champions League last 16 with another win for Bayern

Tottenham and Eintracht Frankfurt both won their matches coming back from behind and made the last 16 of the Champions League football tournament. It looked like Marseille and Sporting Lisbon would advance to the pre-quarterfinals on Tuesday, the final day of Group D matches, but their rivals advanced to the knockouts after the bout. Tottenham beat Marseille 2-1 to top the group with a goal from Pierre-mile Haberg in injury time.

Frankfurt also managed to finish second in the group, beating Lisbon by the same margin, making their Champions League debut. The top two teams from each group will advance to the pre-quarterfinals. The top two teams from other groups were fixed but the order of some teams changed. Porto topped Group B after beating Atlético Madrid 2–1 while Club Brugge played out a goalless draw against Bayern Leverkusen.
