Yoga helps us deal with stress, keeps mind and body fit: Indian hockey player

Bangalore. Men’s hockey team vice-captain Hardik Singh has said that yoga has become an integral part of the routine of the Indian hockey teams and the ancient practice is helping the players to de-stress and keep their mind and body fit. Over the years, Indian men and women hockey players have made yoga a part of their exercise routine. Hardik said on the occasion of International Yoga Day on Wednesday, “When we were first introduced to yoga, we felt that it was very slow and it was not easy to do all the asanas properly. Many of us would rather lift weights in the gym than practice yoga for an hour.

“But eventually we realized that the power of meditation helped tremendously through the practice of yoga,” he said. Personally it helps me concentrate better and especially after my injury during the World Cup yoga helped me in my recovery process. I feel much more comfortable after the yoga session and it has also helped us to concentrate better.’ Navneet Kaur, vice-captain of the senior women’s team, expressed similar views and urged everyone to practice yoga. requested.

It relaxes our body, especially after a grueling session, and some asanas have helped a lot with our flexibility.” The women’s team is currently at SAI’s Bengaluru center for the national coaching camp ahead of the Spain tour. The men’s team is on a two-week break following their Pro League campaign in Europe.
