Chess sensation Vantika Agarwal achieved a special achievement, became the third ranked Indian player

The rising Indian chess player Vantika Agarwal is making rapid strides in her career. Vantika has achieved the distinction of becoming India’s number three player in the women’s category with a total of 2428 rating points. The 21-year-old Vantika, who was part of the 2020 Olympiad-winning Indian team, has been impressive in her recent matches. She scored 61 points in her last four international tournaments, including becoming the women’s champion at the Menorca Open in Spain.
Expressing her happiness, Vantika, who lives in Noida, said, “It is a wonderful feeling to be India’s number-3 player. To be honest, I knew I would make it but was not expecting it to happen so soon. I have been able to move up in the rankings in the last four tournaments and achieve this position.”
Vantika further added, “I will not stop here and will keep working hard so that I can achieve the title of Grandmaster and become India’s No. 1 player. This is my aim. To achieve this, I will need to play more big tournaments now.
Woman Grandmaster Vantika has been a consistent performer on the international circuit. She also became the 11th Indian woman to win the International Master’s title last month.
Vantika will be participating in some top tournaments in the coming days to prepare for the 2022 Asian Games to be played in Hangzhou and she would like to continue her good run through these tournaments. He is also confident of becoming a Grandmaster this year as he needs to clear three GM norms and 2500 rating points to clinch the title.
