Lucknow Supergiants bowled well in Powerplay: Warner

Delhi Capitals captain David Warner said after the defeat in the Indian Premier League (IPL) match here on Saturday that Lucknow Super Giants bowled very well in the powerplay. Warner said after the 50-run defeat, “It was a challenging target. We got the rhythm in the beginning because of the fast bowlers. But they (Lucknow) bowled very well in the powerplay. Khaleel Ahmed dropped the catch of Kyle Mayers (73) when he was on 14.

Warner said, “Nobody wants to drop a catch, but since then the rhythm has tilted a bit in their favor. But the Lucknow team batted very well. 170 was a good score on that but he batted brilliantly. Meyers’ half-century helped Lucknow Supergiants recover from a slow start to post a mammoth 193 for six. Lucknow won with the brilliant bowling of Mark Wood (five wickets for 14 runs).

The Delhi Capitals captain said, “Wood is a great bowler and he showed his talent and experience today. Lucknow Super Giants captain Lokesh Rahul said, “It was a great start. We didn’t know much about the pitch, good start. We put up a good score which was 30 runs more than what was expected on this pitch. Kyle Mayers batted aggressively and put pressure on the bowlers. “He said,” Then Wood bowled amazingly, it is a dream for any fast bowler and team. The entire bowling group did well to put pressure on the batsmen.
