Stuttgart beat Hamburg in the play-offs, dashing hopes of returning to the Bundesliga

Hamburg. Stuttgart ended Hamburg SV’s hopes of returning to the Bundesliga football tournament by winning the play-off second leg 3-1 here on Monday. Stuttgart won the two-legged tie by a score of 6–1 on aggregate. On Monday, Sony Kittel gave Hamburg the lead but Silas Ketompa leveled the scores at 1-1. Enzo Milot then scored twice for Stuttgart to secure a 3–1 victory.

Hamburg’s team failed to make it to Germany’s top league Bundesliga for the second year in a row, losing in the play-offs. After relegation to the second division in 2018, Hamburg will have to play in a lower league for the sixth consecutive season. Hamburg lost 0–3 in the first round match.
