Manika beats Olympic and World Championship medalist in Slovenia

go to jubljana Star Indian table tennis player Manika Batra stormed into the women’s singles pre-quarterfinals of the WTT Star Contenders Ljubljana, beating world number 15 Chen I Ching, here on Thursday. World number 32 Manika beat her Chinese Taipei opponent 11-4, 11-9, 11-7 in just 23 minutes. Ching is an Olympic medalist in the mixed doubles category. He has won several medals in the doubles and team events of the World Championships. Manika will next face the winner of the match between Bernadette Jox and Adria Diaz. She is the only Indian taking part in the women’s singles draw.
