Australia declared South Africa on the brink of an innings defeat at a mammoth 575 for eight on the third day of the second Test after David Warner’s double ton from Alex Currie. At the end of the third day’s play, South Africa had scored 15 runs losing one wicket. He still has to score 371 more runs to put Australia out to bat again. In the last three innings in the series, the South African team has not been able to score even 200 runs, due to which its defeat seems certain.
His main batsman and captain Dean Elgar has already lost his wicket. Only seven overs could be bowled in the last session due to rain. For South Africa, Enrich Norkia took three wickets for 92 runs in 25 overs while Kagiso Rabada got two wickets.
Norkia dealt a double blow to Australia by dismissing Warner (200) and Travis Head (51) in the third over. Warner, who retired hurt yesterday due to a hamstring strain, could only play one ball and lost his wicket. After this, Rabada dismissed Cummins (four). Curry and Green took the lead after seven wickets fell at 440 runs.
