Karnataka beat Jharkhand by nine wickets to further consolidate their position at the top of Ranji Trophy Group C. The Karnataka team, captained by Mayank Agarwal, has already made it to the quarter-finals after the previous round. He got six points from this match and also made Jharkhand’s path difficult. Karnataka now has 35 points while Jharkhand has only 23 points. Rajasthan and Kerala have 20 points each while Goa has 18 points. After dismissing Jharkhand for 164 in the first innings, Karnataka scored 300 to take a 136-run lead.
Off-spinner K Gautam again took five wickets. The hosts were bowled out for 201 in the second innings, leaving Karnataka with an easy target of 66, which they achieved in the 19th over. In Raipur, Goa team scored 359 runs in reply to Chhattisgarh’s 531 for nine wickets. Playing the follow-on, he scored four runs without loss in the second innings. Kerala scored 286 in reply to the hosts’ 371 in Puducherry. Puducherry scored 34 runs for one wicket in the second innings. Rajasthan were bowled out for 136 in reply to Army’s 178 in Jodhpur. Army scored 276 runs in the second innings, in response to which Rajasthan scored 107 runs for six wickets.
