IND vs BAN 2nd Test: Pant and Shreyas Iyer missed out on a century, Indian team could only take a lead of 87 runs

The second Test match between India and Bangladesh is being played in Dhaka. Today, the Indian team could only manage 314 runs in reply to Bangladesh’s 227 runs. Shreyas Iyer also faced 105 balls and scored 87 runs. 10 fours and 2 sixes came out of Shreyas Iyer’s bat. After the dismissal of both these batsmen, there was not much performance from the bottom batsmen. Akshar Patel scored four, Ravichandran Ashwin 12, Jaydev Unadkat 14, Umesh Yadav 14 and Mohammad Siraj scored 7 runs. Jaydev Unadkat remained unbeaten after scoring 14 runs.

For India, captain Shakib Al Hasan scored four runs in 19.3 overs scoring 3 runs. Taijul Islam also gave 74 runs in 25 overs bowling and achieved 4 successes. Taskin Ahmed and Mehndi Hasan Miraj got one success each. At the end of the second day’s play, the hosts were seven without loss. Najmul Hussain Shanto was playing five and Zakir Hussain scored two runs. Captain KL Rahul’s poor form continued unabated in the first session as Bangladesh’s Kaislam removed India’s opening three wickets for 86 runs. Rahul (10) and Shubman Gill (20) were lbw by Islam. Islam took three wickets for 24 runs in 13 overs in the first session. Cheteshwar Pujara scored 24 runs and was caught by Mominul Haque at forward short leg.
