Pakistan stopped Afghanistan with ‘clean sweep’, won the third T20
Pakistan stopped Afghanistan from ‘clean sweep’ by winning the third and final T20 match by 66 runs. Pakistan scored 182 for seven wickets and later bowled out Afghanistan for 116 with eight balls to spare. Pakistan’s interim captain Shadab Khan and young fast bowler Ihsanullah took six wickets each. Shadab became the first male cricketer from Pakistan to take 100 wickets in T20s. He took three wickets for 13 runs and Ihsanullah for 29 runs.
Shadab later scored a 17-ball 28 while Sam Ayub fell one run short of his fifty. Afghanistan however won the series 2. 1 which is their first ever series win against Pakistan in any format. Afghanistan’s Najibullah Zadran got out after getting injured on the first ball itself. Concussion substitute Azmatullah Umarzai scored 21 and was the last batsman to be dismissed. Pakistan had scored 90 for nine wickets and 130 for six wickets in the first two T20 matches but it performed well in this match. Sam faced spinner Rashid Khan well and hit two sixes and four fours in the innings. At the same time, Abdullah Shafiq scored 23 runs in 13 balls.
