Torch, mascot and theme song of ‘Khelo India Youth Games 2022’ launched

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Union Minister of State for Sports Nisith Pramanik on Saturday launched the torch, mascot and theme song of the Khelo India Youth Games 2022 to be held from January 30. Madhya Pradesh is hosting this fifth edition of the Games. The theme song for these games is ‘Hindustan Ka Dil Dhadka Do’. Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister reiterated that sportspersons from the state who won medals in Olympics, Commonwealth and Asian Games would be directly appointed as Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs).

He said that players who won medals in Khelo India Youth Games would also be given Rs five lakh annually for training. On the other hand, Pramanik said that the sports sector has developed in Madhya Pradesh in a very short time. Other states should also follow this. Khelo India Youth Games to be held from 30 January to 11 February 2023 will be organized in eight cities of Madhya Pradesh Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, Gwalior, Jabalpur, Mandla, Balaghat and Khargone (Maheshwar). In this, more than 6,000 players from all over the country will participate and there will be a total of 27 sports. For the first time in the history of Khelo India, water sports are also being included.
