International T20 League: Experienced umpires like Taufel, Tucker, Kettleborough will be match officials in ILT20
Dubai. Five-time International Cricket Council (ICC) Umpire of the Best awardee Simon Taufel along with seasoned Rod Tucker and Richard Kettleborough will officiate as match officials in the DP World International T20 League (ITL20) starting this month in the UAE. . This league will be organized from January 13 to February 12, in which a total of 34 matches will be played between six teams in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah. The team of match officials includes Akbar Ali Khan, Alex Wharf, Leslie Reifer, Martin Saggers, Kettleborough, Tucker, Ruchira Palliyaguruge and Shiju Mannil, who have officiated in several international tournaments along with Taufel, according to a release issued here.

During this, Taufel will play the dual role of umpire and match referee. Roshan Mahanama will also be seen as the match referee. Taufel said, “I am very excited to lead the match officials in the ILT20. Franchise cricket has completely changed the outlook of the game and I am thrilled to be a part of a new cricket league emerging in the world. Capitals (GMR), Gulf Giants (Adani Sportsline), MI Emirates (Reliance Industries) and Sharjah Warriors (Capri Global).
