We have changed the way we bowl: Kasprowicz
Michael Kasprowicz, a key member of Australia’s last Test series win in India 19 years ago, recalled the past performance and said that he does not understand the constant discussion about the pitches going on in the Australian media. With India winning the series-opening Test in Nagpur by an innings, Australia will need some magic to beat the hosts in their own den. Australia won the series 2–1 in 2004, with Kasprowicz taking nine wickets, opening the bowling with Glenn McGrath and Jason Gillespie.
But he doesn’t understand the constant talk about pitches by the Australian media. He feels that the nature of the pitches in India has not changed at all and it was because of his strategy that he was able to win two decades ago. The 51-year-old former player, who is here as a commentator, said, “Glenn McGrath and Jason Gillespie were definitely outstanding bowlers. I was fortunate enough to be picked because of my experience of playing in India in the unsuccessful series in 1998 and 2001. “He said,” We have changed the way we used to bowl on previous tours. We used to bowl very straight. We used to use bouncers to strategically throw the fielders in the ground.
