Himachal wrapped up Odisha’s innings for 191 runs with Vaibhav’s five wickets.

Himachal Pradesh pacer Vaibhav Arora claimed his third career five-wicket haul as Himachal bundled out Odisha for 191 in their first innings of their Ranji Trophy Elite Group A match here on Tuesday. Vaibhav took five wickets for 51 runs in 14 overs. He got good support from the team’s other fast bowlers Rishi Dhawan (2/44) and Kumar Abhinay (2/39). By the end of the day’s play, Himachal had consolidated their position by scoring 91 runs for two wickets. At the time of stumps, Prashant Chopra was present at the crease after scoring 61 runs.

The 25-year-old Vaibhav dismissed Ansh Rathi (three runs) in the 16th over after dismissing opener Anurag Sarangi (six runs) in the ninth over of the innings. Opener Shantanu Mishra (52 runs) held one end but wickets kept falling at regular intervals from the other end. He was the eighth batsman to be dismissed for the team’s score of 160 runs. In the other group matches, Baroda’s Jyotsnil Singh (85) and Priyanshu Maulia (50) scored half-centuries, while Bengal bowlers Mukesh Kumar (3/50) and Akash Deep (4/67) got the better of Baroda.

At the end of the day’s play, Baroda’s score was 222 for seven wickets. In Rohtak, the Nagaland team was struggling against Haryana, losing five wickets for 83 runs in 37 overs. In Lucknow, Uttarakhand have so far dominated the game by dismissing three Uttar Pradesh batsmen for 29 runs in 21 overs. Deepak Dhapola has taken two wickets for the team by giving 10 runs.
