Who are eligible to get benefits under PM-KISAN scheme

Under PM Kisan Yojana, all land holding farmer families are being provided income support of Rs.6,000 per year in three equal installments. The definition of family for the scheme is husband, wife and minor children. So, if both husband and wife apply for PM Kisan, then both cannot get the benefit of Rs 6,000. The beneficiary amount is meant for the entire family, so either one has to forfeit the amount. Initially when the PM-Kisan scheme was launched (February, 2019), its benefits were admissible only to the families of small and marginal farmers who had a combined landholding of up to 2 hectares. The scheme was later revised in June 2019 and extended to all farmer families irrespective of the size of their holdings. The Central Government had notified the decision to give a benefit of Rs 6,000 per year to all 14.5 crore farmers of the country under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana.
