Telegram received over 7cr new users when Facebook was down

The Telegram messaging app has gained more than 70 million users, as long as Facebook has been shut down, as announced by its founder Pavel Durov.

All this because users worldwide did not have access to the popular network for almost six hours.

Facebook has blamed the crash, which left 3.5 billion users out of the popular WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger services, on a wrong configuration.

“Telegram’s daily growth rate has exceeded normal, purely in size, and we received more than 70 million” refugees “from other platforms in one day,” Durov wrote in his Telegram account.

According to him, some users in America may have experienced slower speeds, as millions of people rushed to register at the same time, but the service worked normally for most.
