Tendulkar to felicitate India’s Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup winning team
Legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar will felicitate India’s Under-19 women’s cricket team, which won the inaugural ICC Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup, at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Wednesday. Cricket Board of India (BCCI) secretary Jay Shah tweeted, “It is with great pleasure that I share that Bharat Ratna Sachin Tendulkar and BCCI officials will felicitate India’s winning Under-19 team at the Narendra Modi Stadium on 1st February.” Will felicitate at 6.30 pm. “He said,” Young cricketers have made India proud and we will honor their achievements.
Shafali Verma-led Indian team won the maiden ICC Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup title after defeating England by seven wickets in the final in Potchefstroom, South Africa. It is also India’s first ICC title in women’s cricket. The winning team will reach Mumbai from South Africa on Tuesday and then go to Ahmedabad on Wednesday for the felicitation ceremony. The felicitation ceremony will be held on the sidelines of the third and deciding T20 International match between the men’s teams of India and New Zealand.
