The Indian cricket team escaped major trouble ahead of the T20 World Cup semi-final against England as skipper Rohit Sharma was hit by a swift ball in his arm during a practice session on Tuesday but the injury was not serious. Rohit was doing the normal drill of the practice. He was facing the team’s throwdown specialist S Raghu at the Adelaide Oval when a short-pitch ball jumped quickly and hit his right arm. The Indian captain missed an attempt to play a pull shot and the ball quickly hit his arm.
It was clear that he was in a lot of pain and he immediately left the practice session. However, he practiced again after applying ice packs. Team sources said the captain is fit and should play in the semi-final match against England on Thursday. “He didn’t feel uncomfortable in any way when he batted again,” sources told PTI on condition of anonymity. There doesn’t seem to be a need for a CT scan or X-ray. Apart from this, we have a day before the match in which there will be optional practice.

India will face England in the second semi-final on Thursday. The first semi-final will be played between Pakistan and New Zealand in Sydney on Wednesday.
