Massive fire breaks out at Delhi’s Bhalswa landfill site, 12 fire tenders at the spot

A massive fire has broken out at the Bhalswa landfill site in Delhi. At present 12 fire tenders are present at the spot. Delhi Fire Service Assistant Divisional Officer CL Meena said that initially there was only smoke but there was no fire. The fire spread due to the wind. 12 fire tenders are present at the spot. Our priority is to prevent the fire from spreading to residential areas. Our men are also trying to control the fire from above. Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai has asked the DPCC to submit a report on the Bhalswa landfill fire incident within 24 hours.

Significantly, this year, three incidents of fire have been reported at Ghazipur landfill site in East Delhi, in which it took more than 50 hours to douse the fire on March 28. On the other hand, a fire broke out in a shop in the main market of Amar Colony in Delhi’s Lajpat Nagar on Tuesday and it spread to other shops as well. Officials said no casualties were reported from the fire. The fire started from a shop on the ground floor and spread to other shops and a restaurant. The fire also spread to the residence and an office on the first floor of the building. 10 fire tenders reached the spot and the fire was brought under control at 4:20 pm and the process of extinguishing the fire was started.
