Washington. Jervonta Davis successfully defended his WBA World Lightweight Championship title, defeating Hector Lewis Garcia by technical knockout after eight rounds here on Saturday. Davis earned his 28th consecutive victory with his 26th knockout. He came back from a slow start to defeat Garcia, his first loss in his 17th professional bout.

Garcia gave Davis a tough fight but was knocked down in the ninth round. The stadium with a capacity of 19,731 spectators was packed to see this main match which started after one o’clock in the night.
