New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Infinity Forum, a thought leadership forum on fintech, via video conferencing on Friday, 3rd December at 10 am. The Prime Minister said that the transformational initiatives under Digital India have opened the door for innovative FinTech solutions to be implemented in governance. The Prime Minister mentioned in his keynote address that mobile payments in India surpassed ATM cash withdrawals for the first time last year. Turn Fintech Initiatives into FinTech Revolution ( pm inaugrate fintech )
In his speech, the Prime Minister said that the time has come to turn these FinTech initiatives into a FinTech revolution. A revolution that helps in achieving financial empowerment of every single citizen of the country. PM Modi also said that fully digital banks without any physical branch offices are already a reality and may become common in less than a decade. We also believe in sharing our experiences and expertise with the world and learning from them. Our digital public infrastructure solutions can improve the lives of citizens around the world.
Indonesia, South Africa and UK partner countries in the first edition
The event was hosted by the International Financial Services Centers Authority (IFSCA) under the aegis of the Government of India in association with GIFT City and Bloomberg on December 3 and 4, 2021. Indonesia, South Africa and the UK are the partner countries in the first edition of the Forum, the Prime Minister’s Office informed in a press release. The Infinity Forum will bring together the world’s leading minds in policy, business and technology to discuss how technology and innovation can be leveraged by the fintech industry to drive inclusive growth and serve humanity at large.
