Wrestling and archery did not get a place in CWG 2026, a big setback for India

According to the information, India is the second most successful wrestling team in the Commonwealth Games. In the recent Commonwealth Games held in Birmingham, India won a total of 12 medals in wrestling, out of which six were gold medals. At the same time, this is the first time after the year 1930 that wrestling will not be made a part of the Commonwealth Games.

The top spot in shooting is Australia with 171 medals.
Archery and Judo also out of the event
Sports like archery and judo will also not be included in the 2026 Commonwealth Games. Archery has been included in the Commonwealth Games only twice. He was a part of the Games in the years 1982 and 2010.
Indian Olympic Association wrote a letter
This year, the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) had written to the CGF in the month of April this year, asking that shooting, wrestling and archery be included in the Games in the year 2026. In the letter, the union had also expressed surprise over the decision not to include these games.
A total of 22 games got place
26 events of 22 sports have been included in the list of Commonwealth Games. There are also nine para sports among them. In the year 2026, sports like golf, BMX racing, coastal rowing are also going to debut in the Commonwealth Games. It is believed that these games can also get a place in the Commonwealth to be held in Los Angeles.
