United Cup: Fritz and Keys give USA a 2-0 lead in the mixed team

Sydney. Taylor Fritz and Madison Keys scored in straight sets to give the United States a 2-0 lead over the Czech Republic in the United Cup mixed team tennis tournament on Thursday. Fritz beat Jiri Lehka 6-3, 6-4, while Keys beat Marie Bouzkova 6-4, 6-3 in her next Group C match. Five matches will be played in each group, including two matches each in men’s and women’s singles and one match in mixed doubles.

In the day’s other match in Brisbane, Italy and Brazil are locked at 1-1. Beatriz Haddad Maia beat Martina Trevisan 6-2, 6-0 to give Brazil a 1-0 lead. After this, Lorenzo Musetti of Italy defeated Felipe Meligeni Alves 6-3, 6-4.
