Haven’t given myself enough credit despite six hundreds in IPL: Kohli

Hyderabad. Virat Kohli believes he put himself under so much pressure that he never gave himself enough credit despite scoring six hundreds in the Indian Premier League (IPL) but also said what people have to say about his strike rate. He doesn’t care about it. Kohli smashed a 63-ball 100 as Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by eight wickets to keep their playoff hopes alive. Kohli shared a 172-run partnership for the first wicket with captain Faf Duplesey (71).

Kohli said after the match, “I do not pay attention to the previous figures. I have already put myself under too much pressure. This is my sixth century in IPL. Sometimes I don’t give myself enough credit despite playing a good innings. So I don’t care what anybody says sitting outside because that is their opinion. What kind of responsibility have you been carrying out on behalf of the team? He said, “When you find yourself in that situation, you know how to win the match. I have been doing this for a long time. It is not that when I play, I do not win matches for my team. I am proud that I play according to the situation.

Kohli often slows down in the middle overs but said he sticks to his technique and avoids playing any kind of ‘fancy shots’. He said, “I am not the kind of player who plays a lot of ‘fancy shots’. We have to play in 12 months of the year. I am not one of those players who give away their wickets by playing ‘fancy shots’. After IPL we have to play Test cricket. I have to stick to my technique and find ways to win for my team.
