Lucknow | Uttar Pradesh Yogi Aaditynath: Yogi government has decided to give double dose of free ration to more than 15 crore ration card holders in the state. Let us inform that the free ration distribution campaign has been extended by the Central Government under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY) till March next year. After this, now the UP government has made a new announcement, according to which eligible card holders will get 10 kg ration free every month. Ration card holders will get free wheat and rice twice a month. Along with this, pulses, edible oil and salt will also be given free of cost.
PMGKAY scheme was ending in November
Uttar Pradesh Yogi Aaditynath: During Corona, PMGKAY was ending in November this year, in view of this, CM Yogi had announced free ration distribution till Holi on behalf of the state government in Ayodhya on 3 November.
Now double ration will be distributed to ration card holders and eligible families from December. Under Antyodaya Anna Yojana, there are about 30 million units and 13.41 crore units of eligible domestic card holders in the state.

Record was made for distribution of food grains
Uttar Pradesh Yogi Aaditynath: A record was set by distributing a total of 122 lakh metric tonnes of food grains from April 2020 to October 2021 in the ration distribution started by the Central and State Governments during the Corona period. The government claims that the state government has been of great help to the poor and destitute people during the Corona period. The government has done the work of taking the ration distribution campaign to every poor and destitute people through 80 thousand kotedars.
